“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the
things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off
the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds
in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Mark Twain

Water purifaction on the small scale... humaniarian inspired life saver bottle
Also: Yeah, I was wondering about the lifespan thing meself. They come with the filter membrane charged with some sort of glycerine which gets washed out when you prime it. They say the glycerine degrades over time, hence the 3 year life. If you prime it with water, the life extends to 5 years. So long as you keep it wet, I dont see how it can have a life? I think that is probably more to do with "being conservative" and getting you to buy/replace the consumables. Obviously if it freezes, it'l bust the membranes. If it's freezing, prolly best to unscrew the filter and keep it indoors in a placky bag.
